C. Thomas Ludden is an equity partner at Neilson Law Group and one of Michigan’s leading appellate attorneys. With more than three decades of experience practicing in both state and federal courts, Tom is known for his intellectual rigor, eloquent advocacy, and ability to shape legal precedent.
Tom’s legal background spans complex civil litigation, constitutional issues, and commercial disputes, with notable appearances before the U.S. Supreme Court, two state Supreme Courts, multiple federal circuit courts of appeal, as well as state intermediate appellate courts. He has also tried cases in federal district courts and Michigan state courts. Prior to joining Neilson Law Group, he led the appellate practice group at Lipson Neilson P.C., building a reputation for scholarly depth and strategic precision.
Tom has published legal commentary through the Federalist Society and was appointed by the Michigan Supreme Court to serve on the State Bar of Michigan’s Board of Commissioners and the Civil Jury Instructions Committee.
